A Year Or So Ago I Picked Up A Set Of Vintage Jell-O Tins From An Antique Store. Like Many Of The Objects I Collect To Paint, They Sat Patiently In My Still Life Closet Waiting For Their Turn. Eventually Their Number Was Called, And This Painting Was Born.
Chocolate Jell-O — Or Chocolate Gelatin — Was Surprisingly Popular Decades Ago, Though Over Time It Seems To Have Been Overshadowed By The More Familiar Fruit Flavors. This Piece Is A Small Nod To That Forgotten Bit Of Kitchen Nostalgia.
