5X5” - oil on panel
signed front and back
Maple Frame
This painting was inspired by a recent trip to St. Augustine, Florida.
I was taking a short walk along the beach at dusk when I noticed a handful of people choosing to stay in the water as the moon began to rise. There was something wonderfully simple about the scene—the fading light, the glow of the moon, and these small figures lingering in the water to watch it all unfold.
My “this would make a nice painting” alarm immediately started going off.
Fortunately, I had my camera with me, so I stopped to take a few shots before continuing my walk. Those photographs became the starting point for No. 14 in my Fifty-Five 5x5" Series.
